One of Africa's great musical ambassadors, Salif Keita, heads this line-up in the third of the highly-successful African Soul Rebels tours. After playing in Europe in the 1980s with Les Ambassadeurs Internationaux, Salif has remained one of the biggest stars in the African music firmament ever since.

Tony Allen pioneered Afrobeat with Fela Kuti in the mid-1960s. After work with many US musicians as well as becoming musical director of Fela Kuti's Africa 70, h e recently featured in Damon Albarn's project The Good, The Bad and The Queen.

A new African generation is represented by Didier Awadi, former leader of Positive Black Soul and one of the most prominent artists to have emerged from Africa's francophone rap scene. The funky seven-piece Awadi is dedicated to pursuing new directions in hip-hop.
